The Little Black Dress On Display


Fashion's Godfather and Editor-At-Large, Andre Leon Talley has authored a new book that details a woman's closet must have, the little black dress or LBD. 

On display at the Savannah College of Art and Design or SCAD Museum's Andre Leon Talley Gallery (the only dedicated couture gallery in the South), named in his honor of course, Andre Leon Talley has curated some of the most beautiful and memorable dresses like the "Male Lace shirt dress" worn by Marc Jacobs designed by Comme des Garcons


Some dresses featured in this haute exhibit are from Tom Ford'sFall/Winter 2011/2012 collection, worn by fashion's fearless, Lady Gaga; Prabal Gurung'sFall's 2011collection worn by SJP and  Stella McCartney worn by Rihanna

Sol Afrik at Rush Arts Gallery

Sol Afik filled Rush Arts Gallery (located at 526 W 26th St in the heart of Chelsea)with wall to wall bloggers, editors and stylists patiently waiting to see collections from Esosa E, Siwel,  Elizabeth Azadi, Nyanga Creations and Kibonen NY.  Amidst the powerful art that adorned the walls, which served as the perfect backdrop for a fabulous debut, it set the vibe for what was to come......Fashion Innovation.....

With sounds in the background mixed by DJ Universe and a room full of a few of fashions familiar faces, one could almost mistake the show to have started with so many trendy people standing around.  There were  some great fashions that worked the gallery as well as the show....
